CPRS Northern Lights will hold its Annual General Meeting on June 19, 2024.
This year’s agenda, last year’s minutes, and the financial documents have been added to the calendar meeting invite that all Northern Lights members should have received.
1. We’ll start at 3:00 p.m. with a special presentation by Symmetry Public Relations, talking about Indigenous Communications. Learn more about Symmetry on their website here.
2. Our AGM business will follow, at 4:00 p.m. There will be an open call for Directors-At-Large nominations at the meeting as well.
3. If you’re in Prince George, feel free to join for a social following the AGM, at 5:00 p.m. at the Black Clover rooftop patio. The address is at 1165 5th Avenue.
Tim Connrad, APR will kick off the day with a moderated discussion about his work on the front lines of three Emergency Operations Centres responding to wildfires across BC. He’ll discuss the changing landscape of emergency operations communications, the impact of the Meta news-block on social media platforms and share some success stories that included multiple national media reports.
Robert Doane from CBC will be our keynote speaker at our dinner gala discussing the national broadcaster’s soon-to-be released National Indigenous Strategy. He’ll also discuss how an Indigenous strategy for any organization must be beyond metrics and be a part of the solution(s) needed to make the world a better place then we found it. He’ll also discuss how trauma and real world realities we face… how a strategy must extend into communities in a meaningful way.
Every great conference is supported by great sponsors!

We are so grateful for any consideration to sponsor the inaugural Canadian Public Relations Society Northern Lights’ Fall Conference!
Our membership consists of communication professionals who work, live and support organizations across northern B.C.
CPRS NL members hold themselves to a high standard of ethics and professionalism.
Your sponsorship of this event helps provide continued professional development for our members, and assists in showing the benefits of CPRS to non-members. It also helps inspire emerging communication professionals.
Supporting our first Fall Conference ensures we can stay connected with one another to learn from each other, and navigate the ever-changing landscape of communications. This in turn, benefits the organizations we work for and partner with on a daily basis.
Benefits: Recognition on CPRS NL Facebook and website; digital brand and logo visibility during conference; multiple mentions during, pre- and post-conference.
